Rare 1959 26-foot Chris-Craft Sea Skiff Fisherman — a meticulously maintained piece of American marine history that is still used regularly and turns heads everywhere it goes.
My family has owned this boat since 2018, taking it on 5-7 day expedition-style trips at Lake Powell. Most boats of this era have deteriorated outside, but this one has spent the vast majority of its life in enclosed indoor storage. When slipped for the summer, it's protected by a brand-new mooring cover that goes all the way down to the waterline. It also rides on a 2014 tandem-axle Load-Rite Elite aluminum trailer, making it easy to haul out for off-season storage or short-trip launches.
KEY FEATURES:
- Lapstrake wood hull — layered marine plywood overlapping and glued/riveted from the factory in 1959, with no seam caulking required; CPES applied in 2018 and Interlux bottom paint applied biannually.
-
- Philippine mahogany brightwork — all topside brightwork sealed with Epifanes varnish, with chrome, stainless, and brass fittings throughout and Hollandlac Marine paint on decks and sides matching the original Sea Skiff color scheme. Chris-Craft's heritage of warm wood detailing and premium finishing is exactly what makes this boat a showstopper at any marina.
-
- Primarily indoor storage throughout its existence — a rarity for a 65-year-old wooden boat, and a major reason the hull and brightwork are in the condition they are.
