Description
Meet Flipper — a 55-foot floating condo that lives large and is ready for her next adventure. I've powered her with twin 671 Detroit diesels (naturally aspirated) that were recently rebuilt with under 50 hours on them since the work was done. Both heads were rebuilt with new valves, springs, and cleaned cylinders; all cylinders received new sleeves, pistons, rings, and bearings; oil coolers were cleaned; and the hoses are 5 years old. The transmissions are Twin Disc, and the stuffing boxes were replaced in 2020 with dripless units. The engine rebuild can be performed in-vessel — there's plenty of room to access both sides. She's mechanically solid and ready to cruise. The layout is genuinely spacious: a 15x15 salon, 15x10 rear cockpit, 15x17 sunbathing deck, and a 15x12 bridge helm. The full-width galley features a 4-burner glass-top stove, separate convection oven, double-bowl sink, and apartment-size refrigerator and freezer, plus a built-in L-shaped dinette that seats 4. The 15x12 aft master stateroom has a built-in walk-around Sleep Number bed, en suite half-bath with Electro Scan head, dresser, closet, and dual air conditioning (window unit plus seawater AC/heat). The forward cabin has extra-long and wide built-in bunks, its own independent seawater AC/heat unit, and a private TV. The forward head includes a full-size shower, sink, macerator head, and large built-in holding tank. KEY FEATURES: - Twin Detroit 671 Diesels, Rebuilt — Under 50 hours since a thorough rebuild covering new sleeves, pistons, rings, bearings, and valve work. These legendary naturally aspirated two-stroke diesels are known for their durability and in-vessel serviceability. - - Sleep Number Master Stateroom — The 15x12 private aft cabin has a built-in walk-around Sleep Number bed with adjustable firmness, generous storage, and an en suite half-bath — genuinely comfortable for extended liveaboard or long passages. - - Dripless Stuffing Boxes (2020) & Twin Disc Transmissions — Upgraded running gear gives peace of mind on longer runs. - ELECTRONICS: 2 Raymarine chart plotters, autopilot, radar, heavy-duty electric windlass operable from the bridge helm or bow. Anchoring: Bruce anchor (windlass-controlled) plus a Danforth anchor for extra holding power. A 2026 survey values her at $125,000. She needs bottom paint and new isinglass on the bridge — I'm pricing her at $115,000 to account for those items. I'm selling only because I started a new business venture and simply don't have the time to use her. LOCATION: Tavernier, FL 33070
