Built of hand laid fiberglass in 1977 and powered with the durable American Marine Ltd - Ammarine 404 diesel engine. With the single engine, she cruises effortlessly at a steady 8 knots (3 gph) and has a range of up to 1000 nautical miles depending on conditions. A full length keel below protects the running gear while providing a great deal of directional stability. Not surprisingly, the interior is traditional and straightforward with teak cabinetry and paneling, teak parquet cabin soles, durable fabrics, two staterooms with private heads and big wraparound salon windows – a completely practical layout for serious long-distance cruising. SAFETY FEATURES No compromise has been made in the design and construction of the Grand Banks 36 which incorporates well-thought-out safety features to add to your cruising confidence. These features include dependable mechanical steering with emergency steering capability, automatic alarms for the engine oil pressure and water temperature, circuit breakers protecting all electric circuits, seacocks on all thru-hull fittings below the waterline, automatic bilge pump and hand bilge pump located for quick access from the helm.
