Description
2003 Sunsation 32 Dominator | Twin 496 HO | Race Hatch | $90,000 in Documented Upgrades Since 2022 Rare. Fast. Meticulously maintained. This is not your average used performance boat. The Sunsation 32 Dominator is already a collector's piece in the high-performance world — and this particular example is rarer still, equipped with the race hatch configuration that only a handful of Dominators ever left the factory with. It turns heads everywhere it goes, and for good reason. Since 2022, the current owner has invested approximately $90,000 in documented restoration, professional repairs, and thoughtful upgrades — not to flip it, but because he actually runs it. Hard. Fast. And then cleans it obsessively. THE ENGINES Twin 496 HO Mer Cruisers — approximately 900 hours (exact count to be confirmed and updated). When the owner purchased the boat, a pre-purchase survey identified moisture around the starboard exhaust fittings in the transom. Rather than patch it and move on, he did it right: Both engines pulled and sent to North Bay Marine for full service — sensors, hard-to-reach components, the works — while accessible with the engines out. Oil pans were cleaned and coated with truck bed liner. Both transom drive assemblies replaced. Drives serviced. The boat then went directly to Wayne at Sunsation Boats — the factory — where the transom and a secondary area located under the hull were professionally repaired by the people who built it. The boat spent most of a winter there. Total: ~$28,000 in structural and mechanical work at the factory level. Most recently, the owner pulled the most accessible exhaust manifold for inspection. The OEM aluminum manifolds show virtually no corrosion. That's what religious saltwater flushing and obsessive maintenance gets you. A recent survey came back clean — zero issues. THE SPEED Two prop sets are included, both professionally lab-pitched: Hydromotive Quad IV's — 30 pitch, lab-pitched → 80 mph Mirage Plus — 29 pitch, lab-pitched by BBlades (rare set) → 84 mph The custom-built stainless steel bimini was designed and fabricated to handle the speed — the owner has run it past 70 mph with zero noise and zero movement. THE RESTORATION & UPGRADES (Since 2022) At Purchase — Already Completed: New cockpit upholstery New snap-in carpet New cockpit cover and full cover New gauges New cabin headliner New electric-over-hydraulic Kodiak brakes Shore power wiring installed; rigged and vented for future AC Owner-Completed Since Delivery: Custom-fabricated stainless steel bimini — speed-tested past 70 mph, rock solid 15-gallon fresh water bow bladder with pump and cockpit shower hose Full JL Audio stereo/amp system — completely rewired Dedicated house battery for stereo and accessories Onboard battery charger added Garmin GPS with Mercury Vessel View and Vessel View Mobile integration Stainless steel boarding ladder Two new water pumps (very recently installed) Porta-potti repositioned for better cockpit access Sink removed; custom fitted storage lid fabricated in its place Paint: $7,000 professional paint restoration — original color codes sourced directly from Mitcher T; color-matched and executed by a custom paint shop. Results: factory-correct, showroom finish. THE TRAILER Every component that could corrode has been addressed: New commercial truck tires New bunks and bunk carpet All galvanized hardware replaced with stainless steel New stainless steel brake pads; hubs serviced New trailer winch New trailer lights STORAGE & MAINTENANCE PHILOSOPHY Stored indoors, climate-controlled in the owner's private shop. This boat has never sat outside between uses. Salt exposure is real — the owner runs it in mixed use including saltwater — but his flush routine is genuinely next-level: a dedicated tank system that injects salt remover (typically vinegar-based) directly into the flush water, combined with a foam cannon wash-down after every outing. The boat is treated like equipment that needs to perform, not like a display piece. I'm not exaggerating about being OCD. The $90,000 in work since 2022 backs that up. WHAT IT NEEDS Complete honesty, because the rest of the listing earned it: A few surface paint scratches — cosmetic only, scheduled for touch-up A small tear in the top of the starboard rear headrest — straightforward upholstery repair That's it. Recent survey confirmed no structural, mechanical, or systemic issues. THE BOTTOM LINE Year 2003 Make/Model Sunsation 32 Dominator Engines Twin 496 HO Mer Cruiser Hours ~900 (to be confirmed) Location Venice, Florida Trailer Included — fully refurbished Survey Recent — clean. Bring your own surveyor. Title In hand This is a documented, professionally restored, factory-serviced performance boat with a transferable paper trail and a seller who can answer every question because he did the work. Serious inquiries only.
