Moonshine — 2008 Leopard 46 Catamaran, Fort Lauderdale, FL
I've owned Moonshine since January 2020 and she has been my home and adventure platform for sailing the southeast US coast and the Bahamas. Before I bought her, she had already made the passage from Cape Town, South Africa to the Caribbean, up to Maine, and back down to the Southeast — all on her own hulls. She is a capable, sturdy, and safe bluewater catamaran, and I'm proud of how well she has been maintained and upgraded during my ownership. Duty is paid with a CBP 7501 in hand.
KEY FEATURES:
- Stepped hulls — The Leopard 46's fine entry bows and longitudinal stepped hulls reduce wetted surface area for speed while flaring above the waterline to maximize interior volume. The light displacement means she handles offshore chop without slamming.

- 1,380 Ah lithium house battery bank — Three Epoch 460 Ah lithium batteries installed June 2024, paired with three solar panels, give Moonshine serious energy independence for extended passages or time on the hook.

- Folding aft cockpit seat / swim platform — A signature Leopard 46 feature: the aft cockpit seat folds down to create a swim platform or dinghy dock, making it easy to get in and out of the water or tie up the tender.
